[Alpacasite] Waterer

Has anyone used the "Bar-Bar-A Horse and Cattle Waterer"? The animal
has to touch a pad with their nose to bring water up from the ground
to the drinker. When they take their nose away the water drains back
into the ground, thereby eliminating the problem of algae growing in
the drinking vessel. I would think the alpacas would be smart enough
to master this but I'm wondering if anyone out there has any first
hand experience.
