I have had a woman come to my farm a few times now. Each time we get
into more detail about what is involved with taking care of alpacas.
Her first visit was the usual questions, what do they eat, do
you "shave" them, do they like the cold, etc. It has progressed to,
can I put them on the same land that had cows on it, or had about
the deer, I read something about them? So, it has been very nice to
have someone very serious about the care of these furry critters,
whether she buys from me or not. If I don't have what she's looking
for, then I find someone who does, knowing that this woman is ready,
willing and KNOWING what is involved with alpacas. Sometimes having
several small visits to explain stuff is better than trying to cram
their head with everything they need to know in one or two visits!
And, I still get the random calls asking advice or specific
questions. Customer service and customer knowledge should go hand in
hand.
