[Alpacasite] Re: Getting More People into the Alpaca Industry

I agree that there are too many people getting into the industry that
have no business owning a dog or cat, let alone an alpaca. There are
those people who are in this business ONLY for the money and they do
not care who they sell to. When I sold my horses, I would visit the
peoples ranch before I would let them buy. I would not allow my horses
to go to places that had barbed wire, no shelter, etc. I really would
love for the whole alpaca industry to do the same. The industry is
growing so fast and so many people are just not being educated on the
care and responsibilities!! I just heard of a farm who has a lot of
acreage, but yet they keep their alpacas in a very very small area and
then they only feed once a day and they are not given free choice of
hay. I was told these animals are eating fiber off of each other!!
There is just too much of this going on and it sickens me.

Just had to say my peace on this subject. It is one that gets me
going, LOL!!!
