I ask what AOBA actually does for owners and breeders? I posit that we don't need AOBA.

We have ALSA and the International Judging for shows, with no exorbitant fee attached for not being an AOBA and Show System member. We have numerous alpaca and camelid periodical publications, so we don't need Alpacas Magazine. ARI does the registry of course, and complies that EPD database. We have OpenHerd and AlpacaNation, and ARILink for animal marketing and farm presence in addition to farm websites. What function does AOBA provide that isn't done elsewhere?
