So sorry, Janice, after re-reading the posts. I didn't realize your girl had passed. It's never easy. I'm so sorry.

I don't think he said not to prevent m-worm with ivermec, only that monthly injections thruout the camelid industry was creating resistant parasites and that was a bigger problem in the big picture.
As I recall he stated there are peak times and that injections should be given during those times only.
I do recall he emphatically stated that those peak times were for his area of Ohio State, and they may differ in individuals' areas.
I chased a lot of links Tina, but I will look thru my history and see if I can find the one by him.
I recall it was a published paper, and not a forum, and that the date was 2003 I think.

I then read a later paper that stated that ivermec was now useless against intestinal parasites due to the overuse; but was still an effective preventative for m-worm.

But I read a lot, and scanned a lot very quickly over a period of days and nights.  Since the rear legs were not the issue, I did not thoroughly digest the info on treatment for m-worm, was desperately scanning for symptoms first and everything I read said that m-worm started as a stiffness in the rear legs.

Thanks for you support and caring, Tina.
Janice
