Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: Grubs

Hey Carla,

You will need to bait the Japanese beetles in the summer, that's when they hatch and begin to mate.

Subject: [AlpacaTalk] Re: Grubs

The grubs in my back pasture is Japenese beetles. We have, in the last few years, noticed them in the fall and they are all around the area where we have found the grubs.

I am sure we probably have june bugs around here also, but I have not noticed many of them up around here. I will get some Japenese beetle bait and traps for fall and then try to manage them that way. I also am going to be using some of the dirt from my compost pile, so after I dig it up and put in my wheelbarrow, before I dump in my garden I will use my old skirter screen and screen the dirt to keep the grubs out of my garden. I will then get rid of them.

I am thinking getting chickens also. I heard this would help with getting rid of grubs.

Thanks for all of your help.
