Re: [AlpacaTalk] New Member

Hi Shelley -- I'd check the websites for each show to see if they have listings of the educational programs they'll be offering this weekend.  Both are good shows, and most shows offer some pretty basic educational seminars at every show, so just see if there's something in particular you'd like to get in on.  Some programs have fees and advance registrations required, but you should be able to find out on the website and can contact the program coordinator to make sure there's space before you drive a long distance.

Hi All,

I am a new member and VERY new to Alpacas.  I hope that I can learn a ton of information from you, and I have a question straight away.  My husband and I are anxious to go to our first show, to meet people, breeders and see some conformation.  We currently show our Briards, (dogs), and this seems like a new, fun, venue for us.

We have 2 shows this weekend to choose from and we are hoping that you can direct us.   One is in Allentown, NJ, and the other is West Springfield Mass.

Just thought I'd run it by you and see if anyone had any suggestions.  We live on Long Island; NJ is a bit closer, but we might consider traveling to Springfield to gain the most knowledge, if need be.

Thanks,
Shelley
