[AlpacaTalk] RE: Dog blankets for alpacas

 

<<<Yes, the waterproof one was the one I got. It fits 44-49 inches. I
also got the weather beater which is the one that was velcro at the neck
and stomach. It was a really nice coat but a little smaller than the
other so I got several of the others when I reordered. The one girl that
I needed it for is a very large alpaca but on the thin side. I've
figured out that the price I got was from an email special they sent me
so if you order something from them you will be on their list and
receive notice the next time they go on sale which should be soon. I use
the smaller sizes for cria coats and have a whole collection that I've
been able to lend out locally. They are nice to have because I've been
getting my animals sheared earlier , in April,to avoid the flies
atacking them. I can throw them on, on chilly nights easily.

Thanks! Janice.......also needing some inexpensive light waterproof
coats for a couple of miniature horses if you know of a good sale on
those as well......checked Big Dees but didn't see any for minis and
their prices were high for the horse rain blankets anyway.
I've been having to chunk ice off the minis as the big horse (who *has*
a blanket) won't let them in the tiny barn they have for
shelter :-(. A little late in the game to worry about it this year I
suppose (I figure in about 2-3 wks full summer will hit with no spring
and we'll be complaining about the heat, the humidity, and the flies),
but I figure I'd better get these things while they are on my mind.
This winter just snuck on me; not used to this much cold, wet, frozen
stuff and I don't ever want my animals to go thru another winter like
this with no protection.
