Thanks, guys. Well, I had no luck at all. I treated her eye again with the wash and ointment and then went to give her the shot. She is our worst female to treat - David held her pretty good but as soon as I touched her she still jumped right on top of me and smashed me hard into the ground and into a fence. So I gave up right then and there, I already have ruptured lumbar discs and don't need more. Pregnant girls are HEAVY. I think we need to make a chute for her. I'm imprinted now - I have two perfect alpaca hoofprints on my upper back. Her entire eye is still cloudy but looks a bit better - how long does that take to go away if its going to heal?

Tha nks - it just worries me that it says treat 0-14 days postpartum so I was wondering. I'm treating the eye anyway with tetracycline ointment BID so maybe that will be enough, I just dont' like to take any chances with eyes.

It doesn't specifically say NOT to administer during pregnancy. And I believe we gave it to a few girls last winter with no problem.

Is Excenel okay to give during pregnancy? We have a 3/4 term female with an eye laceration and the vet who was on call for my vet wasn't sure. Can't find that in Norm Evans book either. Thanks!
