I adore d.e., or diatomceous earth. Just make SURE you get the food-grade kind and not the pool kind as that can kill your animals. I sprinkle it on the poo piles and also mix it into the grain and pellets and feed it to everyone here, including my cat rescues (it worms them) and horses. It has really made a difference in our fly population this year and we've tried everything, including the fly predators to no avail. It also helps keep your grain/pellets from spoiling if you mix it in. SUSAN OLSON Alpaca Loco Riverside, CA
