Re: [AlpacaTalk] re: hi from new member

Hi Janice,
For sheep I have 3 ewes, a Cotwold, a Shetland/Navajo Churro/Cotswold cross,
and a Shetland/Cotswold cross.
I also have a Nubian goat mama and her 2 twin babies, and 2 Nigerian Dwarf
does.
I'm so glad our sheep is okay after the kick too...I love her so much, she's
2 years old but still our baby. She is just fine.
My next adventure is to find someone to shear my 4 alpacas for me, and to
help trim their hooves!
Pam

Pam, I'm curious as to what kind of sheep and goats you have? I've been
looking into goats and know that will be our next animal; but have also
become curious about sheep.

I guess the curiosity thing is a hierarchy - yesterday I let the alpacas
out into the yard to graze and run around and one of them was totally
curious about the cat - who was just sitting there staring at him. They
stared at one another for a while, then when the paca poked his nose
down to cat height to check this odd creature out further the cat
promptly smacked him. Glad your pet sheep survived the kick, these guys
can pack a surprisingly powerful punch. We were trying to trim their
feet once upon a time, my husband thought he could hold the leg, he was
a very strong sturdy man, while I trimmed. That alpaca promptly kicked
him right onto his rear end!

Warmly, janice in GA
