Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: Fleas
Cindy -
Here are my diatomaceous earth dosages. Please make sure you buy FEED
QUALITY D.E. ONLY and not the swimming pool kind which is toxic to all
animals. Don't breathe it in if you can help it, it can cause asthma and lung
damage. I give the following dosages once per day during and right before fly
season.
ALPACAS AND LLAMAS: 1 T D.E. per animal mixed into their pellets
(I just mix it in with their pellets in the pellet
container each time I fill it in fly season)
HORSES, PONIES AND DONKEYS: 1/4 cup D.E. per animal
DOGS AND PUPPIES: 1/2 tsp per dog over 25 lbs., 1/4 tsp if under 25 lbs.,
do not give to puppies under 2 months of age
CATS AND KITTENS: 1/4 tsp per cat over 6 lbs., 1/8 tsp under 6 lbs. - do
not give to kittens under 2 months of age
