[AlpacaTalk] RE: Emergency

<<Janice:

Wish I could help, but don't know what it might be. You can pretty
much call Ohio State University about anytime. I'm sure other
teaching hospitals are about the same. OSU never asks who you are or
where you are, so it doesn't matter to the vets there. If they think
she needs to be seen, they'll tell you so. Let them know your
situation - no way, too far, no vet available,
etc...............their number is: 1-614-292-6661. Alpacas are under
the food and farm animal service which you'll be prompted for and
it's "1" right past the intro talk.

Hope this helps and good luck,
Susan>>

Thanks Susan,
I am just now getting this post since I am on digest and get it in the
wee hours of the morning; your post came after the digest was compiled I
guess.
Anyway, I have filed it away for the next emergency, which hopefully
will not be anytime soon.
When the vet said to use the University, she didn't say I could call
them or give me any guidance in how to "use" them. All I could think of
in my tired groggy panicked state of mind was that she meant to load the
poor animal up and haul her to the "University" to be seen.

Thanks! Janice
