[AlpacaTalk] Nasal Membrane in New Born

Hey All,

It has been a while and I am in need of your collective brains.

Had my one and only cria on Monday....A girl @ 12.4 lbs. She had a
difficult birth. Her head was on the right side of her body and she
had one foot tucked unter her. I got it all moved around and the Dam
pushed her out. I very quickly realized that she was having trouble
breathing. Got her going and got her to nurse with assistance. It
was off to the vet to see why she was mouth breathing. No fuild in
her lungs but she is on Nuflor just incase. Vet seems to think that
it may be a membrane in the back nasal cavity.

She is eating well. Gaining .25 lb pd even @ day 1
Up and using her leg for a good little run about all most every time
she is up.
She discharged a lot of mucus on tuesday and wednesday on the left
side but nothing today. She still sounds like a snot nosed kid and
is breathing more often with her mouth closed.

Just wondering if anyone had gone thru something like this....
