Oh, Heather, I'm so sorry to hear about your little girl with the eye
problem. They become pain-free almost right away, so she should be feeling MUCH
better! You did the right thing for her, she'll adjust well since she's so
young and probably won't even notice she's different.

My alpacas are all doing well but I've had more than my share of horse
injuries lately. We introduced a new gelding slowly but the kick-fest is still
going on, they are still figuring out their place in the herd hierarchy. The
alpacas are so different, they crack me up - I usually don't even notice when
they are having a disagreement, they are so docile. The usual way I can tell
is when one gets "pouty-face". The first time I saw that was over at a
local breeder's - I asked her what was wrong with that alpaca and she explained
it to me, it had just lost a "food battle" and was pouting for 20 minutes.
Good thing she told me, I would have had mine to the vet the first time I saw
that, they look like they are having trouble breathing! LOL
