It's just a guess but perhaps it is why the Board is working with lawyers
and accountants to set this up.
Funny, the by laws did not materialize in my e-mail box!!
By the way, there's a copy of the Bylaws in the membership directory. AOBA
is so secretive that they include it in the Membership Directory each year.
(At least through 2006...I don't have a 2007 at home).
By the way, these programs are not new. They've been going on since AOBA
opened its doors and existed when Ana Romanik was on the Board. To my
knowledge, this is the first accountant to call the income taxable. Think
about it.
I suggest you contact the marketing committee? I do see the ads.

I just received a copy of the Articles of Incorporation and bi-laws in my
email box!
I wonder if these bi-laws have ever been amended?
Two very interesting things I have found.
1. It states that there is to be only ONE membership level.
2. AOBA will not carry on any activity that will impair or terminate such
exemption of tax exempt status.
Wouldn't creating a for profit subsidiary conflict this above statement?
The initial registered agent of AOBA (he filed the paperwork) was Kenneth
Hobert in Estes Park, CO.
Unrelated...
Is there a tv schedule for the AOBA commercials so that we can view them
and know that marketing dollars are actually going into marketing? Again, I
have not seen commercials in about a year and only saw the one commercial.
Curious, because at least members could know that they are being served.
