[AlpacaTalk] Fonzie's eye

hi all - the vet just left - fonz has a scratch on his eye - and yes the vet gave him a shot right in the conjunctiva, a horrible sight as i'm holding him - vet left me more of the gentocin, and the BNP ointment Jess mentioned - and he said to keep it on hand for any future problems, as Jess also said - it is always good to hear from other alpaca people that something has worked

we have to treat him every 2 hours with the drops, and use the ointment last thing at night

he said we should see a big improvement by monday - vet is coming back on Wednesday and will see fonz again, put a stain in his eye to see if it stays on anything, then make a decision whether to use a steroid meds. Now that i know about fonz being able to transfer the steroid to his pregnant mom as he is still nursing - i will discus that with the vet too. I feel incredibly relieved now that i know what to do, and that he won't lose his sight.

i have a question: does anyone else use Bach's rescue remedy (homeopathic)?
