[AlpacaTalk] AOBA Shennanigans/subsidiary
Hahaha! Very funny! Yes, if I had a spare $5k or so, I most surely
would become a "benefactor" of AOBA and all the free goodies like
Alpacas Magazine, which used to be a benefit to ALL members. I'd love
to have an electronic member directory so that I could send out email
after email advertising my animals for sale or hire, but as it is,
because I do not have deep pockets, I have the opportunity to send out
one email blast at a time, costing me what, $100, $200 each?
It's funny, the "benefactors" now get for free what everyone used to
get, for free. Is that generosity? And even funnier, those people
making the decisions to limit those benefits which used to available to
the entire membership are the "benefactors.
irony?
I think it's time that AOBA really served all members. Give back the
membership benefits that are now only granted to those great
"benefactors.
themselves.
I know that shows are expensive to run. I do know that entry fees don't
pay for them. Stalling and farm displays pay for a major portion of the
cost. And we all know that well run shows with many large sponsoring
farms can make a good profit for the affiliate putting on the show.
Please, I'm not stupid, and neither are most other breeders. We know
what's what, and who is really benefitting from the current structure
of AOBA.
