Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: Hi, newbie here and a question

I am new also, not only to Alpacas but this list. It would be great if questions were answered on the list so that we all could learn from others questions :-)

Thanks for all the replies I have received! They dont show here so I
guess they were sent by private email. You all have given me some
great information.

Just to clarify about the horses, they will remain on the property
but will not share any paddock space or barn space with the Alpacas.
They will all have there very own private areas securly seperated.

Now another question:
Now that I somewhat know the difference between the two types, and
you can tell the difference by looking at them when their hair is
all grown in, what about after they are shorn? Also does any one or
has anyone tried to breed the two differnet types together? ( I am
sure it would be a mess and I am not thinking of doing this, just
curious).

Are there any good websites or books that explain good Alpaca
conformation as I understand this is valuable when breeding and
choosing the right Alpacas. Also are the colors just "trends"? What
makes one color more desirable than the other?

Thanks again!
