[AlpacaTalk] Help with non-receptive female
Hi Group,
I'm at a loss, I have a 3 year old maiden who was bred at the age of 2 years. She had a positive ultrasound at 90 days, but never delivered. Re-ultrasound this spring showed normal anatomy and nothing in the uterus.
Since April of this year she has been given 3 injections of Estramate, and has been exposed to a male repeatedly. At the last exposure, after 10 minutes of chasing her around the pen, he just gave up, cushed next to her, put his head on her shoulder and continued to orgle!!!!
Has anyone ever run into this? Does anyone have any suggestions? My vet said that even if she has had a persistant CL cyst, the repeated doses of Estramate over the past 5 months would have resolved that and caused other follicles to mature.
She is a little on the heavy side, BCS 5-6, would her being heavy have anything to do with her non-receptivity?
Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
