I understand your tulip bulb analogy.
One general thought I have is drawn from my general understanding of horses.
There are people who own upper echelon horses of X breed for a variety of
purposes. I am thinking of the thoroughbred auctions in Lexington, KY. THen
there are other people who own horses that are not perceived to be worth
those kind of lofty dollars. Midlevel show horses, pleasure horses or just
plain pets.( apologies in advance to horse owners who may define this more
precisely than me)
A multilevel market. Prices based on function of animal and whims and
emotions of owners with varying levels of finances.
Alpaca quality will be more critical as availability increases with herd
size.I think this is just a function of a maturing market.Purchases should
be kept in mind especially with profit at this point being based on
livestock and the value added aspect being in a less developed state at this
time.
