Tim, if anyone wants to ask your question I see no reason why they can't, and I would bet Rick gets bombarded already with emails and phone calls of complaints. John sure did. Right away we had Libby and John R. suggest that John M be banned via a poll.

The question is more what should be tolerated and what shouldn't and so far Rick posts his rules, and makes the decisions about enforcing them rather than let us all run amuck and get crazy. Alpaca people are a very emotional bunch. I think this site should value respect for each other as members of the same industry. Surely this site can be used to instruct, ask questions, learn, share concerns without slamming and insulting each other.

Each of us can get carried away in the heat of the moment when a controversial subject pops up, or we are debating change within our industry, but we also rely on our moderator to bring us back to sanity and civility, and most of the time he does. Granted as individuals we don't always read and react to each email in the same way, but at least there are guidelines whether we agree or like all of them or not.

A good debate is educational, and one that has give and take without the ugliness that unfortunately alpacasite had gained as a reputation in various instances in the past. Guidelines help keep us from abusing each other and the taking advantage ( such as advertising) of this website's membership.
