Another lesson you need to look at from the llama
industry:

Some breeders sell each other animals at really high
prices to give the appearance of a strong market, to
inflate the apparent value of their stock, and to
prove to the IRS that they can make a profit. Llama
Life II tracked some of these "sales" and found that
the animals were never registered in the new owner's
name.

You can be sure that a big-name breeder will get a
much higher price for his stock than will a small farm
for an equivalent quality animal, based on the hype
factor alone.
