Re: [AlpacaTalk] Looking for Advice About Selling My Alpacas

I would agree with Laura. Making sure they get a good home being the most important consideration I'd check around to find someone who is heavily into fiber arts and if they want them I'd let them have them. If you really want to protect them make it a contract and you could add in that if they couldn't keep them for some reason you would take them back to find another home so nothing bad happened to them.
That's what I did when I took a couple horses for rescue....and they have no fiber! However, they are protected by contracts. Just an idea for you to toss around. dee

Hello I hope someone can give me some advice. I am considering selling my two male alpacas. I got them from a friend and have decided I prefer my sheep and I just don't like working with alpaca fiber as much as wool. I don't have any idea what I should charge for the guys since I got a deal from my friend. They are about 10 years old. One peach colored one red colored. One is intact and the other is not. They have nice fleeces but are not show quality confirmation wise. I have papers for them. I want to charge enough that I know the person really wants them and will be committed to caring for them but I'm not looking to make a killing on them.

If anyone could give me any advice I'd welcome it.
