Did someone posting somewhere in this thread have a graphic or something in their sig block?  All the posts from this thread and another one (the corn one maybe?) have gone into my spam box, which usually means there's a graphic linked somewhere.  Please check your signature blocks to make sure they're "clean" so everyone has a chanc to see your posts.

I agree Heather.  If you pay the shearer $25 to shear the animal, $15 to have the fleece sorted and the fleece weighs 5# blanket - the sorting you would definitely be in the hole. Shipping is very pricy also.  Always do the math .

Did everyone see that eBlast from the people who want to buy your fleeces, minimum 3.5", and sorted, grades 1-4, for UP TO $3 a POUND?

For crying out loud, I hope no one falls for this. Getting a fleece sorted is at least $15 per fleece, and cost of shearing, and shipping... I think you'd lose money on this deal. Much better to send it to a local mini mill and have it spun to sell.
