Re: [AlpacaTalk] RE: vitamins for alpacas
If I may ask, why do people feed beet pulp? I did a limited amount of research on it, and what I read said that it has very little sugar at all, so is not a source of energy, but it is very high in fiber and used quite a lot as a horse feed especially for elderly horses who have trouble chewing due to bad teeth. And that it is low in Vitamin A.
So I'm curious, why is it fed to alpacas?

I have asked about this at my feed store when this came up before but
they don't seem to know what I am talking about and say this beet pulp
with the molasses is the only beet pulp they have ever seen.
Maybe I will ask again.
Thanks, Janice
