Subject: [AlpacaTalk] lost pregnancy?
My female that I was sure was pregnant I am now thinking is not.
All summer she was trying to mate her nearly 2yo dtr. When fall got
here I put her in with her boyfriend and they were both happy campers.
they had been pacing the fence for months - he with his tail up and ears
perked prancing about and she with her tail up or cushed next to the
fence.....or mating her dtr. After a few days together and an observed
mating I separated them again. After about 2 wks I tested them together
and she spit him off. Also she had stopped mating the 2yo female and in
general was much calmed down. Great, we were looking for a baby come
next fall.
The past week or so she has been mating her dtr again constantly and I
am noticing some interested activity at the fence line separating her
from the male.
I can only assume this means she lost the pregnancy?
I am not going to put them together to test.....I don't want another
winter baby.
So will have to wait till spring to test them together, but I fear there
is no more baby :-(.
