will Alpaca mom's eat the placenta?  I know my ewes will eat it if I don't catch them in time.  Some people allow it, and others think it is too rich and will bring in too much milk too fast and cause diarhea (how DO you spell that word?)

            Thanks, everyone.  Also, Patty made the coat that kept Sumiko warm all winter.  She was such a skinny thing and we didn't want her wasting all her groceries on trying to keep warm.  Her fiber was sparse. 

            She is looking so good and we know she is feeling good by the way she trots around and pronks now and then.  Her baby, Samurai, is the apple of her eye, unless there is food around and then she has a hard time deciding which takes priority!!  LOL! 

 

            The Pyrs think the babies are wonderful…….and they are very respectful of the moms.  One mom is not very tolerant of dogs and they back away when her ears go back. 

 

            The only problem we had with the birth on Sunday while we were gone is that we never found the placenta………we went up and down the pasture- covered every square foot of it…..and the barn.  I think the dog may have found it.  Oh well.
