Subject: RE: [AlpacaTalk] Cria Donation?
When we lost a cria at 2 days old a couple years ago we had the hide removed and tanned. Today we use it in our education program to show the size and softness of an alpaca cria. Visitors, both families and school groups, seem to appreciate getting to touch and see the tanned hide.

Check with the ARI? I am soooo sorry to hear about your little boy!! So sad to wait so long to have an unhappy end. :(

Oh, I'm so sorry. Best wishes to you and the dam. Poor little guy.
I suggest your closest university veterinary teaching hospital, or a vet that holds "wet labs" to teach how to deliver a cria during a dystocia. Your own vet should have some idea, I would think.

I had a cria born yesterday with a deformed knee. He was never going to be able to walk so I had him put down. I would like to donate his little body, but I have no idea who to contact. Can anyone help me with that?
