Cosby of Chelsea Farms has turned out to be a great sire! He's got just a few crias on the ground, and I am very pleased with my own cria from him, Hotblack de Bolivia. Hotblack's fleece tested at 19.4µ at one year, and he won a blue ribbon for his fleece at Alpaca Mania 2009. A daughter born late 2009 is dark brown/maroon from a beige dam, and has a grey spot at the tip of her tail! This is a hallmark of a grey, so she may turn out to be a modern rose grey, or will easily throw grey crias! Her owner reports that Cosby also greatly improved upon the dam's fleece with this cria. I have a new true black cria from Cosby, the spitting image of Hotblack. I expect he'll be every bit as awesome as his big brother!
Looking for a true black Bolivian sire in the Northwest? Cosby is ready to work! His breeding fee is 50% off, no limit. Just $750!
Sienna Illusion is wonderfully dense, gorgeous dark maroon Pluro grandson. His sire is Silver Creek, one of Alpacas of America's best rose grey sires. At 4 years, Sienna's fleece tested at 20.8µ. He has generous staple length, and a 5 lb blanket every year. So far, he has four crias on the ground, two black females and two maroon males.
Breeding fee is on sale, just $750, and there's no limit!
Padre is a beautiful white El Bello son with a true black Bolivian dam. His fleece measured 18µ at one year, his blanket weight is always over 5 pounds, with a 5" staple and high amplitude crimp. He has exceptional bone density with a compact to medium frame. He is also a very sweet boy, he likes the hugs and cheek scratching, and even some kisses. He is unproven for a variety of reasons, but I think he will produce outstanding babies.
Introductory fee is just $500, driveby only. $750 for visiting dams.
Leonardo: med. fawn male, 7/8 Peruvian 2X Blue ribbon winner!
Sire: Snowmass Sumar Escobar, son of the famous Escobar and grandson of Hemingway.
2 time blue ribbon winner for fleece. Pedigree includes Yupanqui, Guellermo, and Aladdin on dam's side. 17.4µ at one year, 19.8µ at 4 years! We have his sire and two blue ribbon winning brothers on the farm. This fleece trait is dominant! We think he'll be every bit the pre-potent herdsire that his father is.
Introductory fee is just $500, driveby only. $750 for visiting dams.
