RE: [AlpacaTalk] Skinny girl

We fed orchard grass hay and alfalfa hay very generously.  Supplemented ours with camelid feed, calf manna and a cup of grain for gestating and lactating horses.    Our girl is fed by herself so nobody else can steal her food and she is fed twice a day………with hay free fed 24/7.

Good luck with your girl.

I have not been on here for quite a while, but saw this thread and saw my girl. I have a girl who is 18. She, at one time, had anaplasmosis (parasite). i got her cleaned up and we keep checking her to make sure she is clean, but I also am having trouble with getting weight on her. She has no cria because I wanted to get her up in weight first as she is a good Mamma.

I am trying some new feed, but am wondering what else I might be able to do to help her.
