Re: [AlpacaTalk] birthing question
Wendy, I'd call the vet. That may herald a breech birth. I've only seen it once, and it was followed by a normal delivery but it isn't typical and I'd get veterinary input ASAP.

Subject: [AlpacaTalk] birthing question
hi - i recently took in a 15 (or so) year old alpaca so she could retire here - once we sheared her saturday we realized she is pregnant - she is skin and bones and the sweetest thing ever
this morning she went into labor, an hour ago - there is a sack hanging out and some dripping - i have never seen this - our babies have just been born head and feet showing first and then the normal procedure - she is walking around with this sack hanging there - has anyone experienced this??? do we need to do something immediately? ?
please advise if anyone is online -
thanks so much
wendy
