I agree, Jim - we all do what we can and we do the best we can for our animals.  I'm sorry you had to deal with the death of any alpaca, much less a new mother.  I can't even imagine.  However, we all need to keep an open mind about these things and read as much as we can on the subject before feeding it again - prions are a very, very scary thing.
