Thanks, Heather. Problem is, I have no patience because in my book if he is a Suri appy with grey, we have a nicer alpaca and people are already asking who his herdsire is. For those who are interested, it is SPEA Aragon, a junior in Indiana not owned by us. His sire is Concert Master. We own this appy cria's sister/aunt?, one of Concert Master's female crias (by the same dam) who is just fantastic. I would repeat either breeding if they were closer but my spouse has trouble parting with the alpacas. Not great for sales, showing or for our breeding program. LOL
I have a question about bay blacks too - in horses a bay is a brown coat of any shade with black points (legs, mane and tail). So when I registered one of our females as bay black, I called ARI to ask them and they couldn't tell me. She has a brown stomach, black face and legs and her prime fleece at the skin is TB. I would think she's a TB but I don't want to misrepresent her. When we registered her I think she had AFFB "Amniotic Fluid Fleece Burn". ; )
