That is the most rediculous disclosure form I have ever heard of. It amazes me anyone has consented to answer it. Anyone on the board or the NC care to disclose who created that form, and what was trying to be accomplished? Was this the same form used last year? If is was I am very surprised Libby and others consented to answer it, and if it wasn't who changed it? I think many of the hundreds of emails I have recieved in the last week might not have been sent and even discussed if we took the trouble to look at this form. What a joke. If you were trying to somehow avoid candidates with a conflict of interest, that is a moot point because everyone on that board if they own an alpaca has potential conflicts of interest. That is why in large corporations there is a BOD but the shareholders vote on important issues the BOD do not make those decisions on there own. Maybe this organization should adopt the same type of protocol, which maybe would than eliminate the distrust many have for the BOD as they tend to walk to the beat of their own special drummer when it suits them. One such issue would be where the Nationals are held each year.

Subject: [alpacapolitics] Will it really help you?
This has to be short, I have to finish getting ready to talk with some vet students tomorrow about the wonderful alpacas we all love and devote our time to.
I just took a min to look at a blank AOBA BOD candidate disclosure form. While it really help any of you to decide who to vote for by knowing which candidates:
gave away or sold an alpaca for greater than $100 and to who?
gave or sold and alpaca worth $5000?
spoke to anyone about alpacas for compensation or not?
if anyone has purchased an alpaca for $100 or more and who from?
How will any of this information help you decide who to vote for? Perhaps I'm missing something, if so, someone enlighten me. If I were a candidate I would have to disclose all of my shearing clients (for pay or not) and anyone that I helped with herd management on a no cost basis? Why is any of that of anyone's business except mine or my clients?
Unfortunately this disclosure form is incredibly bias against at least one candidate, actually it's more than unfortunate. This election will go down as yet another low point for our association.
