This show was at Mapaca Jubilee which is a very large show.  The color checkers thought he was an indefinite fawn but the group of 4 judges then looked at him and said no he was a multi because the spot was so large.

Yes, the spots need to be large, not just freckles, although appaloosa alpacas are also classified as multis.  Sometimes it just depends on the color checker or the judge at each show, especially when the multi classes are small out here.
