            I am glad to hear you take your right to defend your animals very seriously.  My friend lost five sheep to one stray husky.  By the time they realized what was happening and got the rifle, four had been mauled and one chased into the pond and drowned.  She was horrified.  Her husband shot the dog and the sheriff was called out.  They tracked down the dog’s owner and told him……of course the owner was bent out of shape because someone shot his dog.  The nerve!  I told my friend to pursue reimbursement for the sheep, but I don’t think they did.  I would have.  At least now the neighbors know they can and WILL shoot if needed.
