Ok, so what is her actual due date based on her last breeding date? Even if June 21 was her actual due date, she would only be 2 1/2 weeks overdue. And from what we've seen with spring and summer births on our farm in the last few years, that's not unusual in the least. I'm afraid there's nothing to do but wait. :)
Hello fellow breeders, I am going to pull my hair out! My Estee Lauder is long overdue to deliver her cria for the 2nd year in a row. Last year she carried for 377 days, then delivered a 17 pound True Black girl. The baby was healthy and strong and was a *complete* success in the show ring this year. Now Estee is overdue *again*. I can only hope this new late baby will be just as spectacular.
I was told by the owner of the sire that Estee Lauder was supposed to have a June 21 delivery date... This would mean she is WAY overdue and this would seem to be cause for alarm... However, Estee Lauder delivered Dea Luna on May 31st. In looking at my paper trail, Estee was *non-receptive* at 3 weeks and was re-exposed almost 2 weeks later and immediatelhy cushed, bred and got pregnant. This would mean it is not possible for her due date to be June 21 but, rather, later. However, this would also mean that she is still overdue.
The vet was called on Monday and upon a thorough exam, she that it would be another 24 hours, that she "just wasn't ready yet" and that all seemed well, but it is now Thursday and so far nothing. At this point I don't know what or how to think, and I am very concerned and feeling in limbo. Last week Estee was walking around very agitated, "talking" alot, only nibbling at her food, and it seemed that the time was coming. This lasted for 2 days. Then she seemed "just normal" again. Her teats are swollen but that is about it. The baby is kicking up a storm, and the vet said the baby is in a good position (at least it was on Monday). The only thing that I can think of is that I was given the incorrect delivery date.
Anyone out there aware of any other females that carry long like Estee Lauder? How concerned should I be? I just don't know what to do at this point. Any information or input would be so greatly appreciated right now!
