Re: [AlpacaTalk] BVDV results question

Ahhh, you would think so! The last time I tried to contact them, they won't talk to anyone or release any info (or accept) any except from the vet.........I'll try calling her which is what I should have done in the first place. It seems like a little thing, but in the end, it could  be a biggie! Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Can you ask the lab to correct the species on the form and send you the corrected copy? I imagine they'd to it.

Hi Folks:

I recently received my BVDV results from the state lab and all is well.....except that on the report it has my alpaca listed as 'bovine' under species. I'm going to take a wild stab and figure that identifying the virus doesn't have much to do with what species the blood sample came from, but want to not only make sure about that, but even more to find out that IF I should ever want to enter this animal in a show that AOBA would accept the results with her her listed as a cow! Any thoughts? I can call the vet about the integrity of the results, but again, how would AOBA/show division see this?

thanks,
Susan
