Re: [AlpacaTalk] BEW
And by the way, Jim, your statement is extremely insulting to me. If I had a sire who I knew threw a CA cria, no question would I remove him from my breeding program and geld him. But then, I am not making millions off breeding fees for my boys the way those large farms are...
If someone KNOWS that a particular line is involved with CA, rather than clucking and waving fingers, perhaps getting the word out about those lines is a better tactic. Maybe preventing more CA cases is a better idea.
The FACT is, the cause of CA is unknown. Where it has occurred numerous times in certain lines, one can assume there is a genetic cause or at least, predisposition. It is certainly not proven that blue or, more accurately, white eyes, are truly linked to CA, rather than just some anecdotal coincidences. One case does not a link make.
Please try to limit the insults on this forum, everyone.

And Heather, I can just imagine the hell you would raise if one of YOUR studs were named. True or false? So, what makes you think some one should go out on a limb to name names?
