[AlpacaTalk] Re: shivering dam

You will never know about the coat unless you try and in most cases I've
run into, the warmth makes tolerating the coat no problem. If there is any
likelihood of problems at this late date in her pregnancy get her into a WARM
room, if she has a real buddy put them both in, get the heat up 75*-80*F
and leave them there for 24- 48 hours to overcome the hypothermia and
re-stabilize her core temperature . She may have spent the night stretched
out on the ground instead of cushed and as the ground cooled so did she.

In the mean time with a Warm room you have her in a place where you can
check her out or have the Vet do it with a minimum of chasing and catching.
Don't forget to have a heated water bucket in there as well.

I'd love to send you warmth, we seem to have it quite early this year 89*F
for todays high, normal is in the low 70*'s. But don't be envious according
to Farmers' Almanace we are due for another winter Like out last 2 ^feet of
snow and cold that never let up.
Wishing you the best of luck:

They were all shorn 3 weeks ago today, so have a tad of growth plus have had time to acclimate to the weather, though it's been decently warm until yesterday. Anyway, the girls came running in for their feed and I noticed a girl that's 343 days pregnant shivering.>.....>>>>>.......>>>SNIP>>>...........>>>>>>
