Re: [AlpacaTalk] Dog Attack, any advice on Suri alpacas as replacements?

The suri/huacaya mix is not an easy thing. There is stigma on both
sides of the issue.

I have been told in an offer for a trade, that a 1st place ribbon
winner at a level 5 show, huacaya, was not something a particular
breeder wanted in their breeding program. Specifically, the suri 4
generations back in the pedigree. This female is extremely dense,
fine good bone density, huge topknot... But no dice. So, suri in a
huacaya pedigree is really not well accepted any more than huacaya
offspring in a suri line.
