[AlpacaTalk] Re: Shearing Pregnant Female

One year I did not load my preggie girl up in the van to go get sheared
as she was really stressing about being loaded. I skipped her and
sheared her with scissors that year.

Another year, when I finally had a shearer that would come to me (had
enough animals) we sheared a preggie and she had her cria the next day -
a premmie that we had to bottle feed.

But I wouldn't think 5 days would be an issue and depending on the heat
in your area at that time might help her be more comfortable and have a
less stressful delivery.
