Re: [AlpacaTalk] Thought I would likr to share this with you
Hmm. I just searched ARI for the breeder ID "stardust" and only my
sister comes up. I searched for "stardust alpacas" and still only my
sister is listed in the search results. And I do know that she is
listed with AOBA as well, however she and our mom share the
membership, so her name isn't listed first, and her farm name isn't
listed on AOBA's ridiculous excuse for an online membership database.
Not even searchable!
And as you say, you may have shared your name with me when you
requested to join the group. But I admit, I am quite liberal with
approving membership even is a lot of requested information isn't
given. Regardless, if you think I can, or will even try to remember
the name, farm name, and location as well as match it to the random
email addresses of over 400 members here, you're out of your tree.
Also remember that I am not the only one who reads your post. No one
else would have had any clue as to your identity. And with the
occasional spammer slipping through due to my lenience with
membership approval (because I'm not a complete jerk, just at certain
times over certain issues), no one should ever follow a blind link
like that. They really do get through. But I really do remove them
immediately.
Again, if you wish to share something, give an introduction of
yourself, your farm, and what you are sharing. Put your name,
location, and top level URL in your sig block. Feel free to say to
follow the "whatever button," but I really also have a bit of a
problem with posting links to one's own page to drum up visits. It
reminds me very much of someone who lives in the Inland Empire of
Southern California who likes to send people to his website as often
as possible for any number of things. It's advertising. You (or I, or
anyone else) sends people to your website, they are likely to look at
other pages as well, including sales pages. Shameless self promotion,
and is in opposition to the spirit of this discussion group.
I don't know when anyone joined the group. Group rules, some mine and
some requested by members, are in a file ion the "Files" area of the
group website. Recently joined members received an email including
those rules upon their request to join. Those rules are sent out
monthly to members. So, that you're not familiar with them means that
you have ignored them.
Lastly, what some may consider cute and charming, may be to others...
not so much. Your slide show might appeal to some, but you really
ought to have given a warning that over 50% of the pics were your (I
assume) children with no connection to alpacas at all. Fair warning
was really called for.
So there you have it. 3 major buttons of mine were pushed. Maybe
more. All from one post.
