RE: [AlpacaTalk] Condor
Now that is interesting Wendy. What Allison did not write is the end of our
four and a half year string of Suri male cria was the breeding of a Suri dam
(Miss Aurora B who has had five male cria) to CMR Statesman, our 11 year old
son of Acero Marka's Rag Top. Statesman has a very strong orgle. We bred him
to Aurora in one barn stall and put Twist (our Bruxo son) in a different
stall with an open Suri dam for his first time. Having the extra sound and
"instruction" nearby offered a bit of extra incentive for Twists' first time
at breeding.

well thanks to everyone who contributed "condor" info - he is so beautiful i
wish i could spirit my girls across Canada to Ontario and arrange some play
dates - I have a son who lives there but i can't talk him into putting a few
alpacas in his back yard.
as Allison was saying, nothing but boys for two years as we are starting out
was a little daunting - when our first cria arrived this summer and was a
boy - i told my husband, "well, we're going to have a boy farm. Get used to
it" - and then our little Mirabella was born, our first girl, and from our
"retired" nanny alpaca who we hadn't planned to breed at all. What a
surprise (we thought she was retired) The dam is full Chilean and can only
be called 'grade'. Mirabella's sire is a grandson of Acero Marka's
Rockamundo and he definitely brings out the best in our girls.
Mirabella reminds us it is worth it to keep going, and if i had a chance at
a male like Caligula or Condor, i would scrounge up the stud fee gladly.
