This is tough issue. I could no more slaughter or send to slaughter any
of my alpacas, any more than I could slaughter my laying hens, or what
have you.

Even beef cattle have those who are the best breeders and sell for
"alpaca" prices, and don't go to slaughter until they no longer
produce. Then I guess they go to the dog food market, because by that
time they're pretty tough.

So while I definitely do not want to see an alpaca meat industry, I
don't know if there's anything that can prevent it.
