I am very sorry to hear about your feline friend. We had a very similar
thing happen last year.

In the crawlspace under our deck we found a stray who also appeare to be
unable to move her hind legs properly. She appeared to have some kind of
pelvic injury although she had no signs of trauma. When we brought her in to
the vet it seems she suffered a type of embolus that they see in cats. It
kind of disconnects the motor function to the back end to varying degrees.
It can be painful and it often is irrepairable. We had the vet treat her
pain and held her while he kindly euthanized her. It's never easy and I
certainly understand your anguish.

Whatever the issue is with your kitty, I know somehow you will find the
strength to get through it, those of us who care for animals can do no less
for our furry family.
