I think Ryan Maas might be analyzing color progeny records with ARI
info, not sure. He loves doing that kind of stuff! I do as well but not
to the extent that he does!
Yes, I am committed to breeding my blacks true, or at least
black/grey/rose grey. It's obvious that when you mix up the colors you
have less and less chance of predicting the color outcome of the cria.
In addition to my old Bolivian girl, I have a Chilean TB who throws
nothing but black. And she's been bred to whites and lights
exclusively. This year she's bred to my DRG Avatar son who had 16.6ยต
his first year. I'm incredibly anxious for that cria!
I'm actually toying with breeding my Bolivian girl to a white with
exceptional fleece. She was bred to Silas and produced a maroon, who
when bred to Avatar produces Champion rose greys... I'd settle for
progeny like that every time! :)
