[AlpacaTalk] teeth
hi - here's another thought about visible teeth - i bought a 6 month old male who looked absolutely perfect - by 9 months old his teeth protruded and there appeared to be a widening gap in the upper lip - one of our girls had prominent "baby teeth" that came out when she was about 2 1/2 so i wasn't concerned about this boy's teeth right away - But as he got older i became very concerned, as he seemed to have a very odd mouth - to make a long story short, i called the man i'd bought him from and explained the situation and my concerns - he asked me to bring my boy back to his farm - he called in a very knowledgable alpaca vet who examined my boy and said "nothing to worry about - nothing wrong" - his bite is in perfect alignment - his teeth did not need trimming - he said some alpaca's are born with a perpetual smile. My boy is two years old now, and sometimes he has his "bugs bunny smile" and sometimes he doesn't -
Has anyone else ever run into this?
