Re: [AlpacaTalk] in need of a drive by shearer!
Hi Wyatt - my husband is a shearer - but we are in Pennsylvania - california is out commutable. I would suggest scissor cuttiing her as best you can at least in the blanket area - that will help her. her fleece will look crappy but your animal will be cooler.

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the multiple list postings, but I am pretty desperate!
I have a regularly scheduled shear date set up for the end of May, which is just fine for where we live in the mountains, but....
I just found out that my overweight, easy stressed, non-heat tolerating female is preggo.
She will not make it till the end of May, she needs to be sheared before.
I don't want to take her off the mountain, as she is high stress and she has had one premature delivery that was completely due to heat stress. I am totally paranoid about this, I really don't want a repeat of our scenario last year... :((
I also cannot do it myself with my back/neck injuries.
Is there anyone with a heart of gold who can put us on a drive by for this one girl?
My thanks in advance for any replies. We are located approx 40 miles South of Bakersfield and 40 miles North of Santa Clarita off of the I-5 freeway at the top of the Grapevine.
Slainte~
